Magpie Twenty Seven

I've found a place to shower
away from the curious

sheltered from view
an oasis in the desert

where life can begin anew

Nothing better than showering
in such a safe and private place
stars and clouds my only witness
beautiful world is mine to embrace

Must check out all this plumbing
yes, the pieces seem intact
who knows just how long it's been here
rusty, corroded, somewhat cracked

 Connection ~~ Check
Shower head ~~ Check
No leaking ~~ Check

All good

Who might have guessed from ancient plumbing
I would have fashioned this source of joy
Au natural in the great outdoors
My shower, my haven, my brand new toy

  1. Wonderful, very fun and very delightful, Helen. Personally, I stay away from all forms of D.I.Y - I always do a terrible job :D

  3. I can feel the fun you had while creating this. It comes through in the words you chose and the tone you achieved.

  26. Excellent result from an unlikely subject. You could make a ball-cock sound positively poetic, I think!

  34. Yes, an outdoor shower with water warmed by the sun is just the best shower to be had. I was just reminiscing about that recently in my continuing tales of adventure in Africa. Great DIY and fab poem from the prompt!
