Eyes On The Bus

Image ~ Maryanne Delf

Amber Eyes

Gazing deeply into your amber eyes
I sense sadness and fear

I will be your Dorothy
Your magic Wizard

Those amber eyes tell a story
Of a journey to the Emerald City

Following the yellow brick road
Courage is yours for the asking

Now you rule the savannahs
Brave and revered

Cunning and calculating

My task accomplished

  2. I like the imaginative leap to the lion's eyes for amber. Loved the 'Cunning and calculating' after 'Brave and revered' - I liked the increasing complexity.

  5. I must admit .. I could gaze into those eyes forever. The artist lives in Australia ... she graciously gave me permission to use her artwork.

  10. Beautiful piece, Helen. My son is a Leo...Lions are very majestic and silently wise. But his mother is teaching him that he can't just allow the women of the pride to do his bidding. Happy trails from the valley.
