Night Swim

summer’s coming to an end
lake water’s warm
amniotic fluid warm
he calls
‘jump in I’ll catch you’ ..
I do, wrapping my legs
around his hips
we drift in circles
he sings sweet
love songs in my ear
I never want to leave the water
never want to leave him
summer’s coming to an end

  5. The last summer fling
    into the water
    round and round.
    Memories created
    as experiences shared —
    will they
    last the
    winter?

    Thanks for visiting my "forest."

  10. Oh! What a bittersweet love song. I'd love one last swim in the lake. Beautiful visual and your words make me want to dive in....only if someone would call to me. There's nothing like the caress of warm water on bare skin. And summmer is coming to an end.

  11. Now that's MY kind of swimming! Goodbyes are always bittersweet.

  12. I hope, given this "night swim," that your characters will simply move on inside at summer's end.
