Magpie 150

Photographer ~ Daniel Murtagh

i advance
you retreat

what is this game of
cat and mouse we play
the dance we dance

you play the cat
I am the mouse
in this, our cunning game of stalk

open your door
for I am ready to pounce

  12. No more games,
    but you are
    willing to
    pounce?

    Playful kitten you are,
    with sharp
    claws and
    fangs.

    What a witty
    wild
    wonderful
    sensual
    Woonie
    poem.

    Me?
    I stuck out
    my snout
    to see
    what is happening.
    Hmmmm.
    Time to go
    back to
    hibernating.

    Blessings,
    and Bear
    hugs!

  19. Like the word-play--a game cat and mouse, who's stalking whom?!! Perfect last line.

  20. Is that a cat or a tiger???? No pussy footing around here then?? Good write.

  21. Loved this...last line, of course, but for some reason also the phrase "wily game of stalk".
Playful without being cute, which is perfect.

  23. I love this poem! I'd rather not be the mouse, though. I detest rodents.
