  7. I read this aloud while glaring at my screen, moving my hands and that silent-fighting-words-way my people has... And I love your voice, your tone, your way to come down hard on the one who was too full of him/herself to see you coming and conquering. Yum!

  8. bragging and boasting - usually are "blinding" activities. I hear a bit of Gloria Gaynor here :)

  14. I like it, Helen (of course it is written to a GUY). The repetition is adds a lot and will be very appropriate for your song.
To help my appreciation, a part of it fit me, I never saw Mrs. Jim coming. She and my buddy's friend were waiting for me to come to a supper put on by our landlord. I wasn't supposed to be there that night but there was a late change. BUT, I wasn't like your fellow in the poem. I was naïve and carefree. I played with my motorcycle, took classes, worked, and was enjoying being single again with just a little bit of dating.

BTW, I had this disclaimer at the bottom of my Flash 55: "Today's poem is entirely fiction, not one iota relates to ME." So yes, of course I would have a drink with you.
