Almond {Joy}

Ode to (Almond) Joy

I think that I shall never be
Adverse to candy don't you see

A bar that’s wrapped in chocolate goo
Makes me tingly through and through

Won’t matter if it’s dark or light
Chocolate my passion does ignite

Add some gooey coconut
Just try to keep my mouth closed shut

Crowning jewel of this sweet treat
Almonds make the bar complete

  1. I always love chocolate & almonds, but coconut... not always. I'd much prefer reese's peanut butter cups or snickers.

  2. Ah, Helen! It has been a long time since I have had an Almond Joy, but I agree it is one of the most scrumptious candy bars!

  3. Almond Joy and Mounds Bars - a flashback to childhood. My dad would buy two bars for the 4 of us because there were two in each package. No cutting in half necessary. It was a rare and memorable treat, usually on a Sunday night, I believe.
    Great poem!

  4. That would be a perfect bar, yummy Helen ~ Wishing you a happy week ~

  5. ha. almond joy is not my fav...i like all the individual elements...i think it was because i was given a lot of them at halloween...ha...i would take fresh fruit anyday...i am kinda weird like

  6. I have never had Almond Joy but I am sure that with almond and chocolate one can never go wrong.

  7. Cos sometimes ya feel like a nut...

  8. love this chocolate delight with almond touch or is it the other way round?...the poem's a treat Helen..

  9. Not come across these, but they sound wonderful, and the poem is yummy.

  10. Oh Helen I love this!! Almond Joy is a GREAT candy bar! The tone of your poem delights me.

  11. I had to chuckle, Helen, with your ode to a candy bar! It reminded me of my childhood and the bars of chocolate full of roasted almonds that my grandfather bought for me. Smile :-)
