it takes time to peel away to that essence...to be allowed to do that...but it is a worthy investment...smiles.
I love this Helen specially the ending: unburdened, I am free ~
That's a surprise ending.Very nicely done.Cheers!JzB
One of my favorites!
This brought tears to my eyes. dear lady. I have often felt a sense of un~layering as the petals of a rose or tulip pull away. Something beautiful but leaving the the center free.Love to you and all your wisdom.Jane xx
this is beautiful, specially the last two lines...
tender organ, easily brokenhidden feelings, sadness prevailssecrets kept under lock and keyI'd love to tell, you must seduce..
Ah! the same is true for one's soul too, to know a person we must reach to his / her soul .
I like the contradictions - usually the petals would signify something lovely,, but your petals are like a shell...to be rid of that shell is a worthy effort.
This is such a beautiful realization of the inspiring image.
Petal by petal, and whether peeled or not, I think each one has to drop--it's just easier when someone else does it. ;_) Insightful words to a gorgeous image, Helen.
To be discovered or revealed in our essence - rare.... so beautiful Helen
You paint a soft picture of an invitation to vulnerable intimacy. Gorgeous.
Simple. Elegant. Touching. Sublime. Absolutely loved it.
Funny, isn't it, that when we take a mature look at the old shames, we wonder what all the fuss was about! Wise thoughts in lovely words.
"unburdened I am free" Peeled to our secrets and then set free of them...Wonderful wisdom. Such a beautiful image and moving verse.
yes, cast off that shame. it isn't helping anyone.
so beautifully said... i love the way you end this, seeds free to scatter themselves, the beginnings of new growth.
Petal by petal - and the shame is revealed and set free - and new seeds are able to bloom. Very deep… lovely
Sensual, hopeful and wanton... I can see this speaker shaking and breathing heart at the same time. Wondering about being ashamed, but not being sure of what exactly... and then releasing her beautiful secrets into the world. Great image choice: alive.
I wish we were all in this open raw-heart state/space...imagine how the world might look then...well written!
Layers of shame. I would have thought layers of beauty, or something like that. But, then, what do Bears know about poetry?Blessings and Bear hugs, anyhow!
