‘Twas
the night before Christmas
in
a forest dark and deep
jingle
bells rang
rousing
deer from their sleep
No
time for eating
their lichens
and moss
Santa
was calling
Santa
~ their boss
A meet
up with Santa
to pilot
his sleigh
eight
lucky reindeer
would
show him the way
By twinkle
of stars
by moon’s
shining light
till daylight is breaking
Santa’s
great night
Christmas
Eve magic
For
all girls and boys
Eight happy reindeer
a sleigh full of toys
What a cute fun read!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great bunch of reindeer... so happy for those boys and girls.
ReplyDeleteLovely Helen!
ReplyDeleteSooo nice, "Eight handpicked reindeer." Don't you sort of want to still believe in Santa!
ReplyDelete..
I do.
DeleteEven reindeer have a bit of a morning rush as they head off to work LOL. I hope they manage to get a tasty bit of lichen and moss on their travels.
ReplyDeleteDearest Helen,
ReplyDeleteWow, such a sweet poem and love the artwork, he earned a heart for it!
Well, we did see lots of deer, also bucks, while driving the Blue Ridge Parkway entering at Asheville, NC till the end almost when fog made me exit. We had sunshine for 2 days and marveled at the sights on numerous lookouts. Then we went to Shenandoah National Park to ride the Skyline Drive. South Entrance was not possible due to a fallen tree so I had to detour and missed about one third of the Skyline but the remainder in full sunshine was fabulous. Got it done and my 90.5 year old senior got to see some of our countries most beautiful sights. Grateful for having been able to do this, 1,900 mi solo driving but proud of it.
Hugs,
Mariette
Ha. Mariette drove past my backyard - it backs up to the Blue Ridge Parkway (small world). This is SUCH a delightful read - it should be published in my opinion. You are amazing.
ReplyDeleteSmall world indeed Margaret!
DeleteOh, this was so much fun. I think it should be a new universal Christmas reading. :)
