Well, now that you have (so elegantly) put this internal voice on loudspeaker – and had it contradicted – I hope it is now released and dissipated. A wise teacher once told me: 'If you want to know how you show up, listen 'out there'. Don't listen to the inside of your head; it will always lie to you.' Please note that all your responses out here seem to agree! No-one said, 'There there, we can't all be good at it; you'll find something else to do.'
Dearest Helen, You do NOT post in vain! Yours is a rare ability for putting a dagger into ones soul and un-earthing certain spots that no one else dares to find... Sending you hugs, Mariette
Of course this isn't you. It is your muse being naughty. Yes, about half the time I make breakfast for Mrs. Jim still in bed She does for me the other half. Those halves are third, the other third we are both up before serving. Our breakfast is brewed halfcaf, no cream or sugar, and we share a package of granola bar. I put the water and grounds in the night before. Thanks for the inquiry. ..
You, wonderfully gifted poser, ripped the world out of my mouth. Or, maybe our words just decided to hold hands and go out posing together. I so agree.
Someone once asked me if poetry is fiction, nonfiction, or something else. I said, "Yes, poetry is." I think the same might be true about poets and posers. "Yes, we are."
This weekend, I submitted poetry for consideration to a major poetry medium/fellowship inhabited by folks with doctorates and masters in creative writer. Talk about impostor syndrome!
I relate to this poem. I embody this poem! And as you've made me recall a feeling, it is self-evident that you are a poet. Thank you for writing this. :)
You aint not poser Helen. You write from your heart and that is no poser.
ReplyDeleteWe all feel like posers or impostors from time to time. I do whenever I open my mouth to say - I write poetry.
