Hereafter ...

when I die
cobble together a brass band
one of each
trumpet, saxophone, trombone
flute, clarinet, bass drum
lead my loved ones .. onlookers too
through the streets of my home town
dance like there's no tomorrow
raise your glasses

to life, to love, to us, to me
then scatter my ashes
let me soar

  1. Dearest Helen,
Guess the subject when I die, will always be an unexpected one!
But I love this scenario very much! Let me soar, to a place where the soul will be; forever as they NEVER die.
    Big hugs,
    Mariette

Today we will finish the last batch of Pdfs with each 4 chapters, this is the final and biggest chapter. Feels great.

  2. Why is it, I wonder, that so many people have to wait until they die to soar? One of life's great mysteries.

  3. Your poem reminded me of the New Orleans funeral processions with the musicians following the horse-drawn hearse, dancing and making music all the way. What a way to go!

  6. May you always soar, Helen. You are facing mortality with a spirit full of life. I like that this piece reflects that spirit well.

  11. No sad songs for me either. I want it to be a celebration of life with music as loud as I am!
