Dissonance in poetry is a tool we rarely use in our writing, but deliberately used it may add an unsettling emotion that is crucial to describing unpleasant topics. Bjorn is hosting today in the dVerse Poets Pub and the focus is on, yes .. dissonance.

mothers
and daughters collide
dissonant voices
half a step from perfection

Some of the worst dissonances happens in being closer than whats comforting.

ReplyDeleteI have three daughters, and each, in their turn, collided with their mother, but I used dialogue and family meetings to smooth the waters.
