politics as performance art
a fairy tale of sorts
packed with heroes and villains
damsels in distress
roaring rhetoric
boastful braggadocio
perfidious promises
luring us into their theatre
onto their stage
a macabre fairy tale
feels all too real
Dearest Helen,
ReplyDeleteLove your wording: 'boastful braggadocio'
Hugs,
Mariette
Yes, it is all too real.

Politics is really just performance art... detached from reality... well said.
ReplyDelete"perfidious promises" they open their mouths and lies stream out.
ReplyDelete"boastful braggadocio
ReplyDeleteperfidious promises" powerful words... I liked the point made
It's trurned into a Grimm's fairy tale, and so far no redemptive ending, though we live in hope. Well said, Helen.
ReplyDeleteA horrible fairy tale, indeed. It's hard to look at the news--war, pandemic, open criminal behavior in government--and not wonder if the whole thing is real. Happily ever-after never looked so far away...
ReplyDeleteWell done, Helen, and all too true.
