Flitting About

The Little Old Ladies Who Broke All The Rules

come now dear ladies
what do you say
what shall we do
on this beautiful day

do we plan protests
break a few rules
go all political
call out the fools

do we wear purple
with shiny red boots
don a tiara
give folks some hoots

tackle our climate
it's changing quite fast
knock on the right doors
with proof we've amassed

perhaps we go girly
recapture our youth
gossip, confessions
secrets and truth

we've lived life quite nicely
on this we agree
not done till it's over
seems so to me

  5. Ha, I LOVE the photo, and the title of the book your book club is reading. Here on the Island, we have the Raging Grannies who show up at protests to save the trees. They even sing! I so enjoyed your poem. Grinning.

  7. I'm totally adding this one to my list. I love people--particular vintage people--who refuse to step into the box society builds for them. I can't wait to read what these crones get up to!
