zee Chef is in zee kitchen
oui oui
meet this clever man
trained at Le Cordon Bleu
speaks in different language
sounds alien to his crew
glob of this, plop of that
a pinch, smidgen, tad
approximate is his normal
standard would mean bad!

Indeed, and that is why there are chefs and others... and we need to learn that magic pinch...
ReplyDeleteThis is super cute, Helen!
ReplyDeleteMuch love,

These folks measure by their hearts, smiles. As long at its delicious, measurements are at best, approximates.

ReplyDeleteEgads indeed! How this Q made me laugh, Helen! Well done.
ReplyDeleteHa! Love this, Helen. I've always wondered about all those "pinch" and "smidge" and "dash" kinds of measurements. I'm a creative soul, but I don't cook, so when I do, I need exact instructions!

I love zee chef!!! My sister never uses a measuring spoon, uses the palm of her hand, or a pinch!! Me, not so much.
ReplyDeleteDearest Helen,
ReplyDeleteGreat word building around 'PINCH'.
Hugs,
Mariette
I love the light relief I often find in your poems! This one is characterful of your signature humour, Helen! :-D
ReplyDeleteAww this is a fun one, Helen!
ReplyDeleteA great use of the pinch Helen and a fun summation of the chef v. others...
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile, such fun, and yet also evocative of chefs I have met and their manner.
ReplyDeleteVery clever. Oui oui!
