I think most of you know Shay aka Fireblossom the poet. I published this on her 'Wordsworth Word List' challenge yesterday!
Ya got me whipped
into a frenzy
literally howling
at the moon
genius of you
i must admit
[your flip side
being madness]
an endless
looping repetitive
mashup of
pomp and circumstance
and of course
because of you
my poem
remains unfinished
I love where the words took you, kiddo.
ReplyDeleteHa! I love it.
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile! Very clever.
ReplyDeleteLoved that third stanza. Smart!
ReplyDeleteYes, life remains unfinished with always another line to be written - Well done.
ReplyDeleteI think the flip side of genius is often madness......
ReplyDeletewell written....so glad you posted!
Great stuff, Helen. Satisfyingly to the point.
ReplyDeleteThis great stanza...
'and of course
because of you
my poem
remains unfinished'
I hope it's ok, but I think would hit home harder if it came last.
Good work.
And because of YOU, I changed it. Brilliant. Love it when constructive criticism comes my way. Thank you so much.
DeleteAren't they, we, always unfinished? I like your whirl of words.
ReplyDeleteI love the rhythm in this poem, Helen. Great ending!
ReplyDeletedoes genius even work without some madness? Love where it took you
ReplyDeleteLove it! I feel I'm unfinished all the time.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun ending! I love the energy in this. It reminds me of first love. Thank you for this.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun fine poem! Laughed at the ending (if it is indeed ended)
ReplyDeleteYou rang a bell, Helen. I write that in a full moon my fangs grow long and I howl at the moon.
ReplyDelete..
Your poem captivates me with its raw energy and creative expression, Helen.
ReplyDeleteSincerely,
David
