Bjรถrn is hosting Open Link Night in the dVerse Poets Pub ~~ Anything Goes!!!
I dreamed a walk, one step after another, to a place where borders blur into dust, where no nation owns the wind. I walked not to escape, but to meet my enemy in the middle. With every step i took, lines faded, guns turned to rust, factories of war became gardens, children planted seeds, without fearing who owned the soil.
Peace was no longer an illusion, solved by walking to the rhythm of heartbeats shared between foes. A quiet knowing ~ when footsteps echo in the same direction, the ground beneath grows softer ~ until at last we find our breath.

I would love to see a world like that... but how to get everyone on board on such a pilgrimage.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful exhortation to walk in each other's footsteps until we reach peace, Helen - a poem which can only further that cause...
ReplyDeleteIf only Helen. If only. But they say a new age is coming. The getting there will be quite the journey though.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, Helen, walking in a dream or in reality is so good. I love the idea of solving differences and other things ‘by walking to the rhythm of heartbeats shared between foes’.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous rendering of the prompt, Helen! I especially love; "A quiet knowing ~ when footsteps echo in the same direction." ๐๐
ReplyDeleteIt may or may not come to pass, but the dream can offer respite...

ReplyDeleteWow Helen, wow — brilliant. I was shallow with what I shared today… but you were deep as an ocean. Wonderful my friend! ๐๐ผ๐✌๐ผ๐ซถ๐ผ
