i went to my doctor, head in a spin
diagnosis: symptoms of sugar within
body full of candy, thoughts in a crush
i hum fizzy jingles, talk in a rush!
i dream of confections in rainbow extremes
marshmallow mountains, soda pop streams
'you're not sick mused he with a skeptical eye
just chasing your dreams, on a sugar fueled high!

I can relate. I had a sweet tooth for many years. Now I indulge only occasionally. What annoys me is my waistline does not reflect this change. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteMy sweet tooth resembles this poem, Helen! Pass the Sugar Pops!
ReplyDelete"aid 'i had symptoms of sugar within" - hahaha! Me too!! Good to see you here.
ReplyDeleteYou need to ration yourself with the sugary stuff.
ReplyDeleteI have this tiny little British guard who doles out a few M&M candy pieces when I push his flag down. I just now had two before I took his picture.
I plan to write about him for my next Friday Write entry.
I fully get this Helen- I was diagnosed in January with type 2 diabetes, and I had to make a lot of changes. But doing much better now!
