Son Carl 'photo-bombing' Mother & Me ~ 2006
Lisa is hosting Tuesday's Poetics challenge ~
our poems should capture what is meant by the word
"power"
Welcome to the dVerse Poets Pub, my Friends!
[ Power: A specific capacity, faculty, or aptitude ]
the seeds were there
awaiting nourishment
long before i knew what that meant
to water someone else's roots ~~
some seeds need a lifetime, and
with soil under my nails
i have never stopped tending

Ohhh--so poignant, Helen. 💙
ReplyDeleteHelen, Seed Tender. I like the ring of that. It's your superpower <3
ReplyDeleteA lovely photo and nice to see a poem about the power of love!!!!
ReplyDeleteNice work, tender
ReplyDeleteA wonderful poem, Helen.
ReplyDeleteGreat Picture!! Now that's power.
ReplyDeleteA lovely photo, Helen, and a tender poem. Water and soil, the best combination.
ReplyDeleteSo tempting to go political in these dark days and with this prompt Helen, so glad you came at it with a very different slant...
ReplyDeleteI feel this as such a feminist anthem. Good job.
ReplyDeleteA lovely sentiment expressed succinctly. More power to you!
ReplyDeleteThe possibilities are always there in the seed, but tending makes all the difference.
