Dear Helen, This somehow reminds me of what my daughter said to me when she first realised when she was four that boys are different than girls at her kindergarten (remember we have 5 girls and - I hope she forgives me for posting this, you too.)
"Mum, I saw Adam in the toilet at kindergarten. Boys don't have bibik (Malay for you-know...) Did you know they have an elephant nose there?"
Oh forgive me for posting this, but your post reminded me of this hilarious moment for me - the things we parents have to put a straight face to and explain.
At first glance, I couldn't figure out what those toes were doing on either side of that elephant's trunk. It took a moment, lol. So, love your poem because it affirms my own response. That also means it will stay with me much longer, because it makes me smile and laugh.
I,like you and many others , at first thought it to be an elephant trunk.. such beautiful lines you wrote specailly the last one... liked ur title as well :)
This is too cute. The faucet DOES look just like the tip of an elephant's trunk! I'll never look at it the same way again.
ReplyDeleteHelen...i love it! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is so charming, and I completely agree with Willow's comment. That's what I first thought when I saw this picture :D
ReplyDeleteNice haiku, Helen.
ReplyDeleteHelen I have to smile because I want to be tickled too.
ReplyDeleteElephant's trunk - it is, isn't it? Love what you did with this!
ReplyDeleteHelen,
ReplyDeleteI saw the trunk too. Turn the picture upside down and you have a strange wall sconce with toes coming from the ceiling.
Helen

Haha, Helen. I like that: elephant trunk.

Lets hope the elephant's trunk doesn't try sucking up the water! lol :)
