Out
here in the open
Feelin’
free ..
Keyboard
in a pasture
Let me be!
Ticklin’ the ivories
My ten toes ..
Trippin’
to the music
Heaven
knows!
Ticklin’ the ivories
Chopsticks
style ..
Improvisin’
magic
With a
smile!
World's gone topsy-turvy
Can
you tell ..
Toes
becomin’ fingers
What
the hell?
Feelin’
cool and groovy
Am I
high?
Ticklin’ the ivories
'neath
blue sky!
Out
here in the open
Feelin’
free ..
Keyboard in a pasture

ha....i might be a little high if i am tickling the ivories in the pasture in the buff...i mean bare feet...though it might be better using my toes than my fingers....just saying....

ReplyDeleteYou always write so freely and lighthearted. Always a pleasure
ReplyDeleteOut in the open so freely with the music. It's a leisurely day all right! Nicely Helen!
ReplyDeleteHank
i immediately became absorbed in the lightness and freewheeling of this musical trip (◕‿◕。)
ReplyDeleteI didn't link up this week, just reading from others

ReplyDeleteI love the photos and the light-heartedness of your poem, Helen. Pianos, music, pastures, toes – great fun and it cheered me up today!
ReplyDeleteI love the fun in the tickling of tones...
ReplyDeleteI like this a lot, how fun!
ReplyDeleteThe whimsy here is contagious -I love this!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun. I had an aunt who had such long toes she could play chopsticks with her two big toes. This is fun!
ReplyDeleteI love this!
ReplyDeleteI KNOW those are your toes :) My son would see a (maybe baby) grand piano on wheels brought into central park and played beneath one of Frederick Law Olmsted's arches - they guy would make a TON of money busking. My son would take his guitar and search out another place. ha ha. But I think a piano in a meadow would be even lovelier!
ReplyDeletePlayful, with just the right dash of subversion. Maybe others might not find the melodies played this way to their taste, but as long as the subject is enjoying themselves, that's all that matters.
ReplyDeleteThis poem/song would go well with the key boarding.
ReplyDeleteOh, this speaks of freedom...love it!
ReplyDeleteHelen, this is a most delicious read1 The imagery, the tone, the playful voice... I love it all. Included that photos.
ReplyDeleteAh...! loads of fun. Your words danced on the keys. They remind me of my son when he was nine months old. He loved to tickle the piano with his toes.
ReplyDeleteTotally cool! Jazzy! Trippy! Love it!
ReplyDeleteWheeee! Play on, Sister!
ReplyDeleteI see comments from 2014, 2019, and 2021. That's a long time ticklin' ivories in the pasture, but you're such a fey spirit you'll be back in that pasture in a year or two methinks!! What a lilting, carefree write. I loved it!
ReplyDeleteThis still has me giggling -- and thinking it might be fun to try!
ReplyDeleteA delightful response to a whimsical picture – impossible, yet enticing.
ReplyDeletewhat a delightful poem, a real treat to read. i think it can even be made into a song. :)
ReplyDeleteHow important it is to love life while you have it. Never regret not doing something!
ReplyDeleteA delightful poem, Hellen, free-styling piano al fresco! And with bare toes! The pace and rhythm made me grin, as did the image:
ReplyDelete‘Ticklin’ the ivories
Chopsticks style ..
Improvisin’ magic
With a smile!’
Makes me smile and tap my toes.
ReplyDeleteI can hear a song; a delightful one too that made me smile. Smile a gift to start the day. Thank you, Helen. And oh, I love your header pic. Poetry matters!
