A
voluptuous girl Sweet Berry
evidenced
by ample girth
maneuvering feels quite scary
warning, warning
~ requires a wide berth!
A voluminous girl so lovely and lush
blueberry fueled ~ she's grown so plump
chock-full of juice ~ she's ready to gush
true test they say ~ just give her a thump!
A
vociferous girl she is indeed
‘measure
my belly’ as she screams
wanting
to look thin as a reed
imagines
it clearly each night in her dreams!
Off to the juicer we wish you sweet dreams
painless they tell her ~ no worries at all
already you're falling apart at the seams
when
squeezing has ended .. you WILL be quite small!

Aha, so Berry's to get her wish to be slim after all. I love happy endings!
ReplyDeleteIt looks as if Miss Berry is going to get her wish to be slim after all. I just love a happy ending!!
ReplyDeleteAdorable, she is as well as the personification. I did laugh out loud at "you're falling apart at the seams".
ReplyDeleteMe too! Heehee!

Dearest Helen,
ReplyDeleteNo doubt, if passing through the juicer there will be very little left as it is mainly juice that fills her up. But oh so yummy; prefer to bite her though, instead of juicing her to death...๐ซ๐ซ๐ซ
Hugs,
Mariette
This is clever, funny, and a tad mean to Miss Berry — but not cruel. Well written Helen. ๐
ReplyDeleteAdorable poem. Willy Wonka keeps popping up with my girls. My daughter as a child performed in a dance/drama Wille Wonka And the Chocolate Factory.
ReplyDeleteAnd in 2020 (last carnival until we are safe from Covid) my granddaughter of 7 portrayed The Golden Ticket in her class carnival band.
Thanks for dropping by to read mine . You should visit again i added a crucial line in my poem and added a music video
Much๐love
Love the humour, Helen! All centred around Miss Berry's belly. To be smallish eventually!
ReplyDeleteHank
LOL! You captured quite an image, and with humor!
ReplyDeleteI love your take on this one! Such a great use of the fruit prompt. The plump blueberry Sal will be quite thin when she hit the big squeese!
ReplyDeleteVery well done Helen!
So clever and funny. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteLove this, Helen! Poor Miss Berry. Lol
ReplyDeleteOh, Helen. You are funny. Thanks for the fun. Lovely.
ReplyDeletewhat fun! this poem burst upon the tongue - bravo!
ReplyDeleteA cute and funny poem! Loveit.
ReplyDeleteLove this! We have the original film almaost off by heart in this household (along with the Errlo Flnn Robin Hood).
ReplyDeleteThank you for the humorous read, I guess she will now shed a bit of weight. Poor Ms. Blueberry. I can’t help thinking of Willy Wonka when the girl ate what she shouldn’t have.
ReplyDeleteI love this! The imagery made me giggle aloud. And the whole thing makes me want to reread the book!
ReplyDeleteI love the personification!
ReplyDeleteTo personify a blueberry is so fun, but I feel sad now drinking. I usually make jam from blueberry
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely delightful, Helen!! ๐๐
ReplyDeleteHelen,
ReplyDeleteThis made me laugh out loud, as indeed the movie did! What a hapless tale of "our Berry."
pax,
dora
At least she is collected. ๐
ReplyDeleteLol. I always loved this book. And I imagine once Miss Berry is juiced there'll be nothing left but skin!
