Costume + Play = Cosplay




Hostin' a garden party  
cosplay is the theme
for those who may not know 
cosplay is a portmanteau

Been around for eons 
far back as Chinese Ming
it's a growing pastime 
called "doing your own thing"

Simply choose persona
anime, sci-fi, action flick
past, present, future 
can't wait to see your brilliant shtick

I'm posting pics on TikTok
just want you all to know
large amount of prize $$$$$
for the Best In Show

    Helen I know virtually nothing about cosplay but I feel I know a little more now after reading your poem. It seems like it would be a good way to escape and to gain a sense of community with others who feel likewise.

    up to date and with it
    on every single trend

    one feels so old hat
    with your verve and youthful chat
    dancing with movie stars
    driving fast cars
    devoted fans writing from afar

    mrs claus set me an email
    said santa is on his way
    and asked for a favour
    said she'll buy you a new sleigh
    if you could dress down and look dowdy
    just for this once
    cos santa needs to stay alert
    deliver more presents
    and stay away from
    your famous Christmas punch
