I had a hard time getting here. First couple of tries said blog doesn't exist. I to love this and it makes me want to rethink rain, time my dashes as you say to get splashed! I like the idea of being buoyed.
I love this! And I completely believe in every word. Fighting what can't be fought is a waste of energy. One might as well dance with it, and find the perfect moves that will keep it from stepping on our toes (or drowning us).
I would have agreed with you before climate change and the serious flooding here. Now I can't hear heavy rain (like last night) without a touch of fear. Not for myself, as I am in a safe spot, but for many others.
Helen, I liked this, I liked your rain. It reminded me of 'back when' I was running. Several miles a day. Especially I liked running in rain, it made me think of a deer fleeting through the rain. Did you run? .. ..
I love sunny days but after too many of them I long for the rain... cooling, release of tension and everything sparkling and renewed. I love "ducking is pointless"
It’s been a long time since I’ve stood in rain. You remind me how I love the feel of rain, the way it invigorates my senses and bathes my body and soul.

Hugs,
Mariette

ReplyDeleteMy heart aches for all of the folks in Australia impacted by the flooding.

Yes Jim, I was a long distance runner, for years. Until my hips gave out. Lots of races and also tennis, with a few trophies.

ReplyDeleteHard to dodge it, just accept it. :)
Oh wonderful words of wisdom Indeed rain cannot be checked. We better dance in it and get healed by it
ReplyDeleteLove the "downpour-ducking" - great way to put it!
