Thorvald Hellesen ~~ Portrait of Elvind Eckbo ~~ 1914
pixalated
fractionated
dissimulated
you are a figment
of my fecund imagination
infinity wrapped
in repetitive lines
liquid light
hiding deep
in the darkest spaces
i watch you
watching me
my heart soars
In the dVerse Pub, Lillian introduces us to Norwegian artist Thorvald Hellesen!!

Nicely done, Helen. You captured it well!
ReplyDeleteFabulous! You had me with the first word! I'd never thought of the Cubist painting as if the pixels in a digital presentation go awry....it happens on the computer and the face is totally distorted. "Fracionated" - great new word to use here - at least I think it's a new word? Like that you've written it as the admirer! So glad you posted to the prompt, Helen!
ReplyDeleteYou may have misspelled the word I used (LOL) but I like your "new" word better!!!
DeleteLove that infinity wrapped in repetitive lines, Helen. You captured the image!
ReplyDeleteYes, liquid light!
ReplyDeleteNicely done, Helen! I love the thought of ‘infinity wrapped in repetitive lines’.
ReplyDeleteOops, falling for the artist.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your big words.
..
I love your interpretation of the image and especially the lovely way it ends! :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, in all that motion it is his gaze that captures.
ReplyDeleteA most gorgeous interpretation of the artwork, Helen!! You nailed it! 💖💖💖
ReplyDeleteYou begin with awe and end with admiration. A lovely progression of your art appreciation.
ReplyDeleteMuch💖love
You picked a challenging painting and I wouldn't have known how to start but you did a great job. Love your ending especially. With your help I now see the focus of this painting is his gaze.
ReplyDeleteI love "i watch you watching me". Cool poem, Helen.
ReplyDeleteVery good read
ReplyDeleteThere definitely is magnetism in motion in this one.
ReplyDeleteI especially love the title as what follows gives feeling if not an answer of what is oing on for the observer, loving those words too.
