Monday means Quadrille in the DVerse Poets Pub! Whimsy Gizmo provides us a "lunar" challenge! as luck would have it i recently acquired a book of jamie wyeth's art.
Jamie Wyeth ~ Monhegan's Schoolteacher ~ 2004
it's hard to concentrate
when a young lad's
teacher looks like this
if only he knew
his lovely teacher
reads
e e cummings
by the light of the moon
by the light of the stars
naked and free of inhibition
if only he knew

Loves me some E. E. Cummings...and the moon! Love this.

Cheeky!
ReplyDeleteIf he would be made aware the teacher would be send to prison.
ReplyDeleteDearest Helen,
ReplyDeleteReading by the light of the moon would be rather tricky...
Hugs,
Mariette
Good thing he doesn't know! :)
ReplyDeleteI think he senses her free spirit. I think if he knew he would burst. That is a mesmerizing painting. Who is Jamie to Andrew?
ReplyDeleteI just went out and googled that he's Andrew's son. I would love to have him paint a picture of me, warts and all.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this. Cheeky like Kim put it! If only he knew!
ReplyDeleteTotal uninhibited delight!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful painting, how the light dapples is brilliant and your poem brings a free spirit to life!
ReplyDeleteIt has such an E.E. Cummings vibe as well. Love so many of these choices.
ReplyDeleteOh Helen, this reminds me sooo much my tenth grade. We boys just knew she didnt wear a bra. Only two.boys of the three students in my class but the other three boys in our four grade room chipped in (grades 7 ,8,9, and 10).
ReplyDelete..
Sorry, "she" here being our teacher.

ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant take and the painting is beautiful 💕
ReplyDelete"by the light of the moon

David
