Monday in the Pub ... Mish reminds us it's time for a Quadrille!
Word for today is "sketch"
Sketch me at twilight
as shadows softly
blend with moonrise
when dreams begin to
swing and sway
have your way with me.
But sketch me at your peril
i will end our journey
will whisper goodbye
will always wonder
how did we ever die.

Helen this is a great take on the prompt and I love the line 'blend with moonlight' so very evocative 💞
ReplyDeleteMysterious and enchanting, Helen.
ReplyDeleteDearest Helen,
ReplyDeleteLOVELY poem!
Hugs,
Mariette
The twilight seems to be very important to the person requiring a sketch. Well, it's soft and dreamy and suitable for the sketch.
ReplyDelete"Have your way with me, but sketch me at your peril" Sketched like that you can never die!
ReplyDeleteLovely, I did enjoy "sketch me at your peril", seems free spirits never settle and never die!
ReplyDelete'Sketch me in the twilight' ~ what an opener Helen! Took me right into your poem!
ReplyDeleteSo very nice! I love your sketch. I like how you stay in control throughout the poem.
ReplyDelete"At your own peril" and all he'll have is the sketch of her to remember.
ReplyDeleteWhy would she wish to die? We both had the same idea, my title is "Sketch Me". And a story also.
..
Such a dreamy response to the prompt, with a warning at the end. How delightful!
ReplyDeleteTwilight has so many dimensions, and any attempt to capture who we are reflects that.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and gentle, yet there is a strength and confidence in the voice. I like this a lot.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous is Mish. ;)
ReplyDeleteI would never dare to sketch you... there is peril in that.
ReplyDeleteThe twilight is kinder, softens our self criticism, but to sketch in any way is always a risk, I love the wanton line too, the sense that you can give but desire not to be misrepresented. Well that's what I took away.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful, dreamy response. I love the sketch, too!
ReplyDeleteHelen, this is stunning. Truly.
ReplyDeleteMuch love,
David
