2014
Yes it's a yacht and yes, I sailed for twelve days - from Aruba to Bonaire and Curacao!
cruising creates its own state of euphoria
ten passenger yacht, luxury beyond my wildest expectations
my host - a man of mystery
[ let's leave it at that ]
our captain - a charming Aussie
our chef - French to his core
crew of eighteen - passengers six
how's that for balance / ratio
dinners at sunset - choice of three entrees
breakfasts whenever - ordered at leisure
snorkeling, jet skiing, picnics on beaches
days into nights into days into nights
lazily sunning - afternoon reading
drinks before dinner - and yes "we dressed"
trip of a lifetime - an out of sight journey
laughter of friends - several were new
[ lest i forget - mystery man too ]

We both have been to Curaçao and Pieter also was on Aruba.

ReplyDeleteIn 1968, my family travelled to Australia and back after seven months there. In those days it was cheaper to go by ship than fly - despite the sumptuous three meals a day ! I thought that was the height of luxury but Helen - you have just raised the bar...
ReplyDeleteThis brought back such memories--not my own, but of the stories my SIL & BIL told of a sailing cruise just like this that they were on many years ago. He is gone now, and this just brought such sweet memories. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, being pampered even better than assisted living. Well maybe not, they are cutting out a lot of the perks. You did well on yours. Cruises are nice, we sail mostly on Princess. There we've done 18 cruises, 202 days. But beware of Pirates in the Caribbean, mostly they board the small ships.
