Thursday and time for Meeting The Bar in the dVerse Poets Pub! Grace introduces us to a new form ~ the Italian Ottavo Rima (or) Sonnetto Rispetto!
green meadows suffused with soft golden light
whispering winds weave their stories untold
sweet dreams that take flight, slow dance through the night
through valley's deep mist I see snow peaks of gold
with each step that I take, a new world's in sight
slowly, yes slowly, feeling strong and quite bold
and wonder of wonders my heart is set free
this symphony of life, this sweet melody
'neath stars that shimmer in summer's dark sky
a river snakes its way through fields of green
its gentle flow a soothing lullaby
a surreal enchantment, magical sheen
wide open glades reach to forests on high
whispers, deep dark secrets remain unseen
this tranquil haven in nature's embrace
beckons my soul find everlasting grace

What an enchanting and magical place to be. Love the ending couplet/conclustion with:
ReplyDeletethis tranquil haven in nature's embrace
beckons my soul find everlasting grace

ReplyDelete"this tranquil haven in nature's embrace...beckons my soul find everlasting grace"
This sure got my attention because I couldn't decide whether you're a heck more optimistic than I, or if you were talking about death; in my view there being nothing that is everlasting within a living organism.
