walkin' three miles maybe more / I'm in a zone
Tennessee whiskey playin' in my head
fantasies of you, real / full-blown
face, smile, blue eyes, blonde hair
urges unexplored, unknown
first teenage crush / decades ago
today as i walked / feeling alone
you were wondrously there / a part of
my past / a touchstone
Meeting the Bar in the dVerse Poets Pub today ~

How exciting and fun to go back to that reunion and see your first teenage crush. Enjoyed this magic 9 back in time journey. Wishing you a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteDearest Helen,
ReplyDeleteLovely TOUCHSTONE!
Hugs,
Mariette
Your poem is amazing 9 Helen,
ReplyDeletethe return to the crush of the past,
for me at least it created feelings and that is the value of poetry,
to have something to say that will touch the world.
Have a nice day!
Bravo Helen; i enjoyed this so much
ReplyDeleteMuch♡love
I love the layout and punctuation of your Magic 9, Helen, and the feeling that I’m ‘walkin' two miles more’ with you and sharing in your memory.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, Helen, romance fans your poem into flame...
ReplyDelete"You were wondrously there". 💙
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful time at the reunion, Helen!
Beautiful and heartwarming memory. A wonderful magic 9.
ReplyDeleteI was glad you put the little full disclosure note at the end, it gave context to the poem and lets us know you have an exciting reunion to look forward to! Perhaps another poem soon to let using show it went? 😘
ReplyDeleteThat should say "to let us know how it went." ! My computer likes to predict things wrongly!
ReplyDeleteLovely poem. Hope you enjoy the reunion as much as the poem hints at
ReplyDeleteI love it, Helen! Funny how a memory like this one sometimes pops up when we need it.
ReplyDeleteSeems impossible, doesn't it? Next year is my 6oth. Hadn't counted up until I saw your number! A well done use of the form, Helen.
ReplyDeleteI'm here already (at 60), and it doesn't hurt at all! But there are definitely memories piling up that need to be acknowledged, honored and shared.
DeleteI love this and walked in your shoes as my own teenage self, remembering. It's a gift to be able to create that sense for someone else as you tell your own story.
ReplyDeleteHelen I enjoyed your magic nine. I love the touchstone Truedessa
