a tangle of thoughts gone astray
meaningless moments, jumbled
slivers of time lost in the chaos
of cobwebs cluttering my mind
i sought existential answers
while trapped in a cycle of triviality
i found a box full of "stuff"
modern life happened at warp speed
social media, emails, voice mails .. way too much
days when 'overwhelmed' felt real
difficult to focus on meaningful pursuits
indifference, confusion, disorientation
multitasking, divided attention
and i asked myself .. what's it all about
what is it i seek, is there no escape
i found a box full of "stuff"
in search of clarity, deep breaths
to silence the cacophony
find a moment's respite, find peace
from the noise, reconnect with
my inner voice, rediscover
purpose 'midst the fray
