come with me and you will be
in a world of pure imagination
Wonka land's for everyone
groovy, awesome ~ gobs of fun

a golden ticket will open the gate
a golden ticket will seal your fate
a golden ticket will seal your fate
closer, closer to the chocolate hole
everlasting gobstoppers, fizzy-lift drinks
cause loud hiccups and burping me thinks

I may have to see that movie. Nice line: "wonka land for everyone"
ReplyDeleteDid you just rewatch? I had forgotten about Charlie.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't that long ago the movie was aired on one of our TV stations. My favorite movie version and Gene Wilder was pure magic. I cannot count the number of times I've seen it.
DeleteSmiling I am 💝💝
ReplyDeleteWe all need diversions these days.
ReplyDeleteI loved the book and also the movie. It's a deep metaphor but fun on the surface. I like what you did here with it, Helen.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed that movie, so much fun. Have a good weekend Helen!
ReplyDeleteI've always found a bit of dark in all that sweet. Good lad Charlie indeed!
ReplyDeleteI like this poem! Fun!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, let's escape to Wonkaland, even if for a day!
ReplyDeleteHolding the ticket to happiness is the key to living well.
ReplyDeleteI like it - even though I did work in a chocolate factory for 6 months in the early 70s, lol
ReplyDeleteOK...I have not seen this movie but if it makea you happy then Im happy too:)
ReplyDeleteI watched the movie... but I am not sure it made me like Willy...
ReplyDeleteRoald Dahl was not pleased with Gene’s performance. Reading the back story is fascinating.
DeleteSmiles and candy dreams here in Houston
ReplyDeleteMy 1st wife was an Oompa-Loompa. True story.
ReplyDeletePerfect tone for the movie. I can hear that delight of some, the ruthlessness of others, the sweetness of Charlie (and yes, Willie's lingering creepiness).
ReplyDeleteWonderful take, on a delightful movie that I watched many times with my children. Thanks for the memory!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely reminder!
ReplyDeleteYes, this took me back a few years when the good and bad in children visiting the chocolate factory was revealed.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great fun poem I enjoyed this
ReplyDeletei love this jingly poem. the film it is about was scary though. thanks for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteA lovely walk down memory lane. Why am I thinking of chocolate right now?
ReplyDeleteI always view it as a slightly sadistic horror film. And Gene Wilder made this role his and no one else could perform it better. This was a fun little memory jog.
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant trip to Wonkaland, Helen. Thanks for taking us all along.
