Possibilities ....

what if,

as i was leaving,

i confessed every transgression

every possible slip of tongue

would you take me back

what if,

as i was leaving,

i turned and said

‘you know, i’m still in love with you’

would you tell me it’s over

  2. I like the way you've created a still life to let the mood for the beautiful poem. Is the book one of yours? A beautiful post from beginning to end!

  3. Oh, I really like this. Those "what ifs" can creep right in, can't they? I feel like this could tumble its way into a longer poem. So many possibilities.

  4. Important questions to ponder! How much is fate and how much is consequences of our choices. I'm writing a novella right now that delves into this, or at least making an attempt. I like that there is no answer given here.
