This Poem Comes With a Warning

Linda has us thinking about WINE today in the Pub!

Helen Dehner, Photographer

old adage / one for the ages

found in a book flipping thru pages

[ beer on wine fine /  wine on beer fear ]

believe what I tell you / there's no time to jeer

I’ve tested this theory I must now confess

wine after beer has left me a mess

  2. Made me smile Helen! And here I thought it was 'wine on beer, have no fear' all these years-LOL!

  3. I didn't know the rhyme, but I don't like beer, so I don't have to worry. 😀

Never have to worry about any of those...

  5. Lol. In my late school days it was "Beer before liquor, never sicker. Liquor before beer, have no fear." I was one of the lucky ones that didn't get hungover. :)

  7. I had two glasses of Pinot Noir this afternoon chased with tea and goodies. We were at a wonderful afternoon tea downtown in Houston.

  8. I'm enough of a lightweight that just one drink is enough to do it for me. LOL, there's never a second.

  9. Yikes. It does sound like a horrible combination.....now. I'm sure I threw caution to the wind many years back as well.

  10. Ha! This is a fun one! I don't drink beer, but I did learn this one, which seems opposite: "Liquor before wine, feelin' fine...Wine before liquor, feeling sicker." ;)
