Linda has us thinking about WINE today in the Pub!
Helen Dehner, Photographer
old adage / one for the ages
found in a book flipping thru pages
[ beer on wine fine / wine on beer fear ]
believe what I tell you / there's no time to jeer
I’ve tested this theory I must now confess
wine after beer has left me a mess

Here’s to the wine bring first, here’s to you!
ReplyDeleteOoops *being*
ReplyDeleteMade me smile Helen! And here I thought it was 'wine on beer, have no fear' all these years-LOL!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know the rhyme, but I don't like beer, so I don't have to worry. 😀
ReplyDeleteDearest Helen,
ReplyDeleteNever have to worry about any of those...
Hugs,
Mariette
Lol. In my late school days it was "Beer before liquor, never sicker. Liquor before beer, have no fear." I was one of the lucky ones that didn't get hungover. :)
ReplyDeleteNever heard this before. Never liked beer.
ReplyDeleteI had two glasses of Pinot Noir this afternoon chased with tea and goodies. We were at a wonderful afternoon tea downtown in Houston.
ReplyDelete..
I'm enough of a lightweight that just one drink is enough to do it for me. LOL, there's never a second.
ReplyDeleteYikes. It does sound like a horrible combination.....now. I'm sure I threw caution to the wind many years back as well.
ReplyDeleteHa! This is a fun one! I don't drink beer, but I did learn this one, which seems opposite: "Liquor before wine, feelin' fine...Wine before liquor, feeling sicker." ;)
ReplyDeleteI'll take your word on this, Helen! Cheers to good advice! 🍷
