Back
in the 80s before Prince launched tours, he rehearsed at First
Avenue, with no fanfare. We learned about these rehearsals via
telephone calls from a few select friends ~ on our landlines!!
a greyhound station
back in the day
a cool venue lying in wait
balanced on the precipice
Prince! Tina! The Boss!
we were the 'splurge generation'
on our feet
needing a quick fix
music our drug of choice

So much to love in that music.... and live music was something special
ReplyDeleteI have three vices (drugs of choice) caffeine, music and poetry. really liked this quad
ReplyDeleteOh yes, Prince is sorely missed, Helen. Music is my drug of choice too.
ReplyDeleteYou paint an appealing picture, even for someone who doesn't 'get' Prince.
ReplyDeletePrince was not just another pretty face. He sang plenty about revolution and probably why he put it in the band's name. Can't imagine having been able to go to those rehearsals! One of my favorites of his:
