Breathing life into a tired old cliché by using it in an unusual way!
[ let's call a spade a spade, shall we ]
(broken) promises that you made
times you threw some awful shade
runaround games that you played
all the deadlines you delayed
many times you have strayed
personal values you betrayed
thinking life a big charade
outcomes you unfairly swayed
best intentions oft mislaid
[ must be time to reshuffle the deck?? ]

ReplyDeleteVery well done, Helen. I love that you are part of the deck. Are you the Queen of Spades?
ReplyDeleteHonest and raw sharing, Helen. Sometimes that is all that is left to do.
