Poetics Tuesday is here! Punam plays host in the Pub and asks us to write about Autumn's colors ~~~~
with permission
Last night I wandered through a forest
painted in colors unnamed
an autumn dream draped in wonder
Leaves were NOT red .. no ..
they were emberwine
the tint of fire ignited at dusk
Gold? NOT in my world
instead they were sunquilt
stitched from summer's final rays
Orange? they became spiceflare
a crackle of cinnamon and clove in the air
Rust? NO. my trees wore bronzemelt
as if Earth had bent the sun's glow
Yellow? a breath of honeyshine
dripping from the sky
Leaves falling softly on my forest floor
I followed the trail until I woke
leaves still burning bright
in the quiet morning light
I am one
with the living world
I am the forest
I feel it in my bones
I am the ocean
it flows thru my veins
I love to forest-bathe
saltwater-frolic
'earthing' connects me to myself
nothing teaches humility better
than to be swept up
in the cosmos
experience ecstasy, find joy, sweet bliss
in my sometimes
confounding, confusing
universe
In the dVerse Poets Pub, Punam asks us to concentrate on ourselves today ... compose the ultimate "Selfie"
It's Tuesday ~ time for Poetics in the dVerse Poets Pub Poets Pub Merril has provided us with a list of daffodil varieties. We are to use at least three in our poems, more if we choose. No required form or length, nor are we required to write about daffodils or spring ~~~ which means poetry options are limitless today. Yippee!
Lisa has us "leaping" into the dVerse Poets Pub [after all, it IS Leap Year]

Leaping
lords and lizards
a plague is upon us
where do we run where do we hide
in a world filled with deep pain and horror
no place to run no place to hide
the duck, bob and the dodge
as futile as
leaping
Always
the same mistakes
we seem destined to make
poverty, disease and hunger
climate change, war and inequality
we have great minds and resources
yes there are solutions
fight the good fight
always
Rictameter is a scheme similar to Cinquain. Starting your first line with a two syllable word, you then consecutively increase the number of syllables per line by two. i.e. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 Then down again, 8, 6, 4, 2 Making the final line the same two syllable word you began with.
